Tools I use

Everything I use to get work done

Electronics

  • Primary computer: iMac, 24-inch, M1, 2021 in red.
  • Secondary computer: MacBook Air, M2, 2022
  • Earphones: Airpods Pro
  • Headphones: When the ears hurt from calls, Marshall Major IV
  • Reader: Kobo Libra Colour

Software

Writing: Primarily, I do all my Emdash-related writing on Google Docs. Some clients on the Microsoft stack might ask for Word documents. Then, I use that. For The Whole Works or LinkedIn, sometimes when I just need a blank page, I use Notion.

Editor: Grammarly, Mac text-to-speech.

Scheduling: I’ve synched my innumerable Google Calendars to Notion Calendar, which is my primary view.

Project management: Swear by ClickUp — have been using it for years. It serves as task manager, time tracker, internal chat and dashboard.

Reporting: I use ClickUp’s in-built dashboards for real-time reporting. Sometimes, I also use spreadsheets for more data analysis.

Email: Google Mail managed with Spark Mail.

Video calls: Google Meet (which is free with our email plan).

Invoicing and financial reporting: Zoho Books.

AI: ChatGPT and Google Gemini (though, I don’t use it as much as I could be).

Design: Primarily Canva. All visuals on The Whole Works and Emdash are designed in Canva. Sometimes, I also use Keynote to edit or put together some shapes.

Website: All my websites are on WordPress.

Password management: 1Password.

Analog tools

Journal: I’ve a Hobonichi Cousin that I write in everyday. I don’t use it as a planner, only a journal (recording events, thoughts, feelings at the end of the day). I write, stick photos, decorate with stickers and the whole shebang.

Writing utensils: I’m obsessed with fountain pens lately. Favourites are Pilot Custom 823 with Herbin Bleu de Minuit or Sheaffer 100 with Monteverde blue skies.
